Maggie is our beautiful, vibrant, 11 year old daughter with the extraordinary spirit who is feisty and strong in spite of her small frame. Maggie is known for her sense of humor, compassion, tenacity, and her daily “zings!”

On June 30, 2011 Maggie was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a very aggressive bone cancer. After a courageous eight month battle, Maggie died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on February 22, 2012.

Throughout Maggie’s cancer journey our family experienced a tremendous outpouring of kindness and love from our extended family, church and school families, the Ligonier community, friends across the country and even strangers. The combined support enabled us to cherish the time we had with Maggie. We were sustained by the power of the collective prayers. We are grateful for the strong faith that carried us through Maggie’s diagnosis, treatment, and in the time since her death.

Maggie’s story is much bigger than you would assume given her short time on this earth. She was a girl with a pure and unyielding faith. She was a loyal friend. She was a girl who passionately loved her family, nature, sports, and all animals, especially horses. It is in this spirit that our family hopes to help other children and families who are traveling a similar path. We will spread the word that “faith can crush fear.”
