Meet Maggie

Maggie is our bright and vibrant 11 year-old daughter. On June 30, 2011 she was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a malignant bone tumor that most often affects children and young adults.  After a brave eight-month battle with the very aggressive cancer, Maggie died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on February 22, 2012.

Throughout Maggie’s cancer journey a wonderful family, church family, school family, friends and the Ligonier community supported us. It was this combined support that enabled us to cherish the time we had with Maggie. We were sustained by the power of the collective prayers. We are thankful for the strong faith that carried us through Maggie’s diagnosis, treatment, and in the time since her death.

Maggie’s story is much bigger than you would assume given her short years on this earth.  She was a girl with a pure and unyielding faith, and was a faithful and loyal friend. She was a girl who passionately loved her family, nature, sports and all animals, especially horses.  It is in this spirit that our family hopes to help other children and families who are traveling a similar path and that we help spread the word that "Faith Can Crush Fear."
