About the Foundation

We started Miracles from Maggie with one thing in mind - helping.  The goal is simple - to take all of the love and support that our family received as we battled Maggie's illness and pay it forward.

The need is great.  Pediatric cancers and other life-threatening illnesses come with a cost, physically, emotionally and financially.  Through the foundation, we hope to reflect Maggie's caring and compassionate spirit as we take some of the burden from families during their most difficult of times.  Help means providing gas money for a mom who has to take her daughter on a 100 mile round trip, three times a week for treatment.  Help means finding a therapy dog for a young boy who needs a furry friend to love. Help also means supporting other established organizations that are focused on curing these devastating illnesses such as Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Funds from this organization are directed toward Ewing’s Sarcoma and other pediatric cancer research. Help means supporting the Make-a-Wish Foundation and helping kids forget about being sick at least for a little while.  Maggie was fortunate to get her wish as the whole family enjoyed a ski vacation to Stowe, Vermont in January of 2012. In addition to these organizations, the funds support many of the activities that Maggie was fond of, including therapeutic riding, education, animals, and the arts.

You can help.  There is an old saying that says "to the world you are just one person, but to one person you are the world."  To children and families going through unthinkable pain
and sadness, you can be the world.  You can help.  Help families cope today and help wipe out these devastating illnesses tomorrow.  That's the mission of the Miracles from Maggie Foundation.

In addition to the Miracles From Maggie 501(c)(3) Charitable Organization, our family has also created the Miracles From Maggie Fund within the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County, part of The Pittsburgh Foundation.  Through both organizations, we will take the funds that are raised on Maggie’s behalf and pay it forward in a way she would have wanted.
